The hanging lamp below was inspired in part by the Ed Wood film Plan 9 from Outer Space. I love the pie plate flying saucers in that movie, and when I kept finding these perforated aluminum disks in thrift stores, I knew I had to do something with them….something perhaps involving a colander.

After some hunting, I found the perfect item, one thing led to another, and the invasion began.
